Imagine this.... You're sitting at the kitchen table, staring at a never-ending to-do list that has somehow grown overnight. That’s the experiment I ran today. It was 2 in the afternoon and I was exhausted. I had stayed up too late the night before. I could have caffeinated and pushed through like I do every other day, but this time I decided to try something different.
3. My creativity came back like it had been waiting for me to chill.
During that nap: right between the “should I get up now?” and “maybe just one more minute", my brain served up an idea I’d been chasing for days. Rest didn’t kill my ambition. It gave me the energy I needed to keep going. And The Aftermath...... That guilt I always carried when I wasn’t running...it shrunk a little that day. It still whispers, but now I know better. Now I know that rest isn't weakness. It’s rebellion. It’s reclaiming the part of me that exists outside of productivity metrics and color-coded calendars. And the craziest part of this experiment? I didn’t earn this nap. I just decided I was worth it! Want to run this happiness experiment yourself?
